AESTHETIC VIEWS AND GREAT SKI-RUNS
A new ski route and 5 new works of art in the piste gallery
Plus: snow guaranteed on 90% of slopes!
Art is playing a starring role on the Schmittenhöhe this winter. 5 new works of art will be gracing one of Europe’s largest open-air artistic spaces. The year-round exhibition of oversized wooden sculptures is spread across the entire ski area and the piste network, and is a hot topic of conversation for locals and international guests alike. Visitors can look forward to a new project entitled “Snow Art”, which will be opening in mid-January 2007. After the enormous Mozart birthday cake was unveiled last year, the artists’ snowy plans for this year are being kept strictly under wraps.
Valley descents of 1,000 m with guaranteed snow (90% of slopes are suitable for artificial snow), winter hiking trails at 2,000 m, the slopes gallery, cosy mountain huts and modern restaurants, half-pipes, a permanent timed route and carving routes are just some of the many things on offer.
It’s also possible to carve in the morning and board in the afternoon, renting the required equipment directly on the slopes.
Guests can also use the Ski Alpin Card (the season ticket for the European sporting region of Zell am See-Kaprun and the Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang ski circus).
